Jon Penndorf, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, Fitwel Ambassador, is an Associate Principal in Perkins&Will’s Washington, DC office, where he serves as Director of Regenerative Design, guiding sustainability approaches across projects. Concentrating on the commercial and higher education markets, Jon brings a thoughtful focus to ecology, wellness, and resilience. He also serves on the firmwide Innovation Committee and co-directs Perkins&Will’s Resilience Task Force.
Jon has been actively involved in advancing the profession through leadership roles at the local, regional, and national levels. He previously served on the AIA Committee on the Environment Advisory Group and the USGBC National Capital Region Advisory Committee. Locally, he was President of AIA|DC in 2012, and nationally, he chaired the AIA Young Architects Forum in 2014. Jon is a frequent speaker at major events, including Greenbuild, the AIA Conference on Architecture, Neocon, and the CoreNet Global Summit, and his work has been featured in Metropolis, The Washington Post, and Work Design Online on topics such as sustainability, material health, and climate adaptation.
