2026 Membership Kickoff Meeting: Film Screening & Director Q&A

Join Nevada Architect’s Foundation and host sponsor, AIA Las Vegas, for an exclusive screening of SCHINDLER SPACE ARCHITECT, a feature-length documentary that illuminates the life, work, and enduring influence of modernist architect Rudolph M. Schindler. Narrated by Meryl Streep and Udo Kier, the film traces Schindler’s journey from his Viennese education to his groundbreaking practice in Southern California, where his visionary residential designs helped define a new way of living in the modern West.

Directed, produced, written, and edited by Bulgarian-American filmmaker Valentina Ganeva, the documentary blends archival materials, drawings, and interviews to reveal Schindler’s distinctive approach to space, light, and landscape. It also delves into his creative struggles, his unwavering artistic integrity, and the reasons his legacy has too often remained in the shadows of more widely recognized modernists.

The film features insights from leading architects including Frank Gehry, Thom Mayne, Steven Holl, Ray Kappe, Mark Mack, and others, who reflect on how Schindler’s experimental houses, spatial innovations, and human-centered design continue to shape contemporary architectural thinking.

Following the screening, stay for a live Q&A with Director Valentina Ganeva, offering a unique opportunity to discuss Schindler’s impact on the built environment, the making of the film, and what his work means for architects and designers today.
